    The short version: TaxBrief collects no personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device. We have no servers, no accounts, and no way to access your information — because we never receive it in the first place.
  

1. Information We Collect

We collect nothing.

TaxBrief does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal or financial information. All data you enter into the app — including W-2 figures, income, deductions, IRA contributions, and any other financial details — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's local storage APIs.

We have no database. We have no servers. We cannot access your data.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

All app data is written to your device's local storage only. This includes:

W-2 income and withholding figures
Schedule C self-employment income
IRA and HSA contribution data
Estimated tax payment records
Tracked expenses
Your tax profile (filing status, dependents, state)

None of this data is backed up to any cloud service operated by us. If you use iCloud Backup, your device backup may include app data as part of Apple's standard iOS backup — this is controlled entirely by Apple and your iCloud settings.

3. AI Features & Apple Intelligence

TaxBrief's AI Q&A feature is powered by Apple Intelligence, which runs entirely on your device. Your questions and conversations with the AI are never sent to our servers — or to any third-party server — because Apple Intelligence processes everything locally.

4. Purchases

TaxBrief is sold as a one-time purchase through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple. We never see, receive, or store your payment information, Apple ID, or any billing details.

5. Analytics & Tracking

TaxBrief contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party tracking of any kind.

No Firebase
No Facebook SDK
No advertising identifiers (IDFA)
No usage tracking

6. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with anyone — because we never have it. There are no third parties, partners, or advertisers that receive information from TaxBrief.

7. Data Deletion

To delete all of your data, simply delete TaxBrief from your device. Because everything is stored locally, deletion is immediate and complete. There is no account to deactivate and no server-side data to request removal of.

8. Children's Privacy

TaxBrief is designed for adults managing their personal tax information. The app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of TaxBrief after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
